How do I find scholarly sources?

Answer

Article databases on the major platforms (EBSCO, Gale, ProQuest) will allow you to limit your search results to scholarly or academic sources. The limiters are sometimes located in a column to the left of the results list.

Some journal databases, such as JSTOR and Project MUSE, contain only scholarly journals.

Tip: While all peer reviewed sources are scholarly, not all scholarly sources are peer reviewed! Please see our FAQ for information on locating peer reviewed resources.
